We turn the greatest public domain books into short posts that capture the heart of each story: who, what, and why it still matters. A few minutes on your feed, and a classic is no longer a stranger.

A voice for every language.
Text-to-speech for low-resource languages.
Most voice technology serves only a handful of languages. We’re building text-to-speech for languages with few digital resources, so stories can be heard as well as read in the languages people speak at home.
Starting with Akan (Twi)
Mostly spoken
Akan (Twi) lives mainly in speech. Few people read or write it, so knowledge in written Twi reaches few of its speakers.
Hard to get right
Twi needs a level of text-to-speech accuracy that off-the-shelf tools don’t reach. Getting there takes real technological effort.
Knowledge for many
A voice model that speaks Twi well can turn written knowledge into something many more people can simply listen to.

We’re translating the top public domain books into Twi to grow the number of books available in the language. The first version is machine generated and still has typos, so we need Twi speakers to review and edit it into a quality version.
